1. Eligibility & Verification
The freeesim.edu.pl initiative is a non-profit service restricted to verified members of the global academic community. To be eligible for a 5G data grant, you must:
- Possess a valid institutional email address ending in .edu, .ac, or recognized regional equivalents.
- Be currently enrolled as a student, employed as faculty, or appointed as a research fellow.
Applications using commercial or public email providers (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo) are automatically decommissioned by our verification engine.
2. Provisioning & SM-DP+ Protocol
By scanning our provided QR code, you initiate an Over-The-Air (OTA) handshake with our Subscription Manager Data Preparation (SM-DP+) server. You acknowledge that:
- eSIM profiles are unique to your device's EID (Embedded Identity Document).
- Provisioning requires a Network Unlocked device compatible with GSMA SGP.22 standards.
- The initiative is not responsible for hardware incompatibility or devices locked to specific commercial carriers.
3. Grant Duration & Expiry
Each academic session grant is valid for a maximum of 7 days from the moment of first network attachment, or until the 2.5GB threshold is reached. Profiles are non-renewable within the same academic quarter to ensure equitable distribution of resources among all scholars.
4. Privacy & Data Sovereignty
Operating as a Warsaw-based academic node, we strictly adhere to GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). We do not monetize user traffic, sell identity profiles, or retain traffic logs beyond what is necessary for network security and fraud prevention in our SM-DP+ environment.
5. Limitation of Liability
This service is provided "as is" via philanthropic connectivity grants. While we maintain Tier-1 peering with providers such as T-Mobile US and SoftBank JP, the freeesim.edu.pl initiative does not guarantee 100% uptime in all geographical areas and is not liable for data loss or connectivity interruptions during critical research activities.
